Title: Emotional Intelligence: The Differentiator
Location: OCLC, Dublin, Ohio
Description: “The art of maximizing intellectual capital lies in orchestrating the interactions of the people whose minds hold that knowledge and expertise.” Daniel Goleman

Emotional Intelligence is the ability to manage one’s own emotions and effectively engage the emotions of others. This skill set, added to the technical and intellectual demands of the knowledge management profession, differentiates average performers from star contributors—particularly as levels of leadership responsibility increase. This 1.5 hour session will introduce the science of Emotional Intelligence and invite participants to explore how it applies to our ability to be good service providers, colleagues and managers—even across cultural boundaries. Participants will leave with new ideas for strengthening personal and professional relationships.
