Meet The Team
Kathryn E. Sheridan
Katie Sheridan works closely with DJA EC-12 clients as an educator and consultant. She brings expertise on interculturalism, childhood education, and inclusive school culture to clients who seek to transform their schools, districts and communities. Katie has hands-on experience working with educators, parents and Boards of Education to align school values with practices. She has led the development of multicultural parent groups, integrated cultural competency into SEL rubrics, and helps teachers develop practical approaches for bringing more inclusive behaviors into the classroom.
Katie has been a teacher, instructional coach, assistant principal, principal, and is currently the Director of Language and Literacy for an EC-8th grade school district in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. Katie’s intention in joining the ranks of public educators was to change the world alongside our students and this mission has proven possible. As a passionate equity advocate, Katie has worked diligently to engage educators in professional learning that has led to cultural transformations in the service of students. Katie is also deeply dedicated to community outreach as yet another conduit to changing the world.
Katie is a proud alumni of the University of Illinois, earning her education degree with a Spanish minor. Her leadership and administrative preparations were at National Louis University and Roosevelt University earning an MEd and EdS respectively. Katie lives outside of Chicago, IL with her husband and three children.
