Meet The Team
Lori Cawthorne is an HR Professional who brings 20 years’ experience in higher education and corporate sectors to DJA clients. Her work has focused on recruitment, labor and employee relations, diversity and inclusion, and employee recognition. She currently serves as the Associate Director of HR and Diversity, Inclusion, Belonging and Anti-Racism (DIBAR) for the Harvard Library. In this role, she is the Senior HR Consultant, a lead DIBAR Specialist, and Title IX Resource Coordinator. Lori delivers strategic, responsive, and effective Human Resource services and strategies intended to develop and foster an inclusive employee experience.
Lori represents the library and central administration on the university-wide Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging Council, and the library on the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL) Diversity Alliance Task Force. She serves as the Coordinator for the Harvard Library Diversity Residency Program and a facilitator for Harvard IDEAs (Inclusion, Diversity, and Excellence in Action) which is an eight-month cultural competency training that aims to prepare individuals to work in and actively contribute to an inclusive environment. In her spare time, she is a member of the Town of Brookline, Massachusetts, Human Resources Board.
Lori earned a master’s degree in Public Administration from Suffolk University (Boston, MA), a Bachelor of Arts degree in French from Grambling State University (Grambling, LA) and is a 2018 graduate of the Harvard University Administrative Fellowship Program.
