It’s been 2 years since the world turned upside down. People in leadership positions– executives, directors, managers, EDI/DEI, and HR specialists have been inundated with unprecedented challenges, and opportunities, including the potential to have a meaningful impact at both local and global levels. This session provides an overview of the landscape - the global forces in society and the marketplace today that are shaping EDI post-2020. You’ll then hear a fascinating keynote presentation by Dr. Mansour Javidan, an international thought leader, GLOBE research director, distinguished professor of global leadership, and creator of the Global Mindset Inventory, on new research findings across the world on how trust is built in different cultures.

This session will bring together both the local and global lens on working with diverse others and provide insights on how EDI can be better integrated across organizations with global reach.

This session is a bring your own lunch or coffee break to join in informal networking and conversation with other participants on a topic of interest with a facilitator. The facilitator will guide introductions and conversation starters for rich interaction. There is a specific breakout for those who opted in to the Global Mindset Inventory assessment to debrief and discuss their results.

Finding Common Ground: How to Engage in Critical Intercultural Dialogue to Strengthen Relationships

Research finds that while diversity ultimately adds great value to teams and organizations it brings with it differences in beliefs, values, perspectives, and styles that necessitate dialogue for understanding. This session explores the cross-cultural communication skills and cultural agility competencies needed to engage in intercultural dialogue that builds bridges of understanding and helps to create common ground for strong working relationships.
